Mt Buller

The end of the snow season is upon us. Spent four days at Mt Buller photographing and skiing. Waking up at 5 am and snow shoeing it in the dark before the masses of snowboarders and skiers to the summit. It felt great to sit alone on the summit and wait for the rising sun looking at the surrounding mountain tops. Thanks to Ross and the Year 11 outdoor ed students for a great trip.

Night landscapes- Geelong oil refinery

The images in this post were captured using a Fujifilm X-Pro1 and Fujifilm XF 27mm F2.8. This was the first time using this new lens which I received at the beginning of the week. The autofocus was the fastest I have used of all the fuji lens. It worked really well with the new updated firmware and focus peaking addition in low light. I was really impressed with the image quality especially in the centre of the image with some falloff towards the edges. The lack of aperture ring did not bother me at all in fact I preferred changing apertures with my thumb on the rear wheel.

Mallee Experience

Spent last week photographing up in the Mallee an amazing part of Australian Farming community. The reason for the trip was to scout some locations for a possible workshop for next year. We also had the opportunity to photograph some shearers working at one of the local shearing shed. I would really like to thank John and Veronica Stone for hosting us and giving up their valuable farming time to help us find locations and keep us fed and watered. This truly is a part of Australia that is a photographers dream and a community that was welcoming and eager to show of its beauty.
